This Health and Safety role is with one of the UK’s leading main contractors. They have an excellent reputation and build some of the country’s most iconic buildings. They are a diverse organisation covering most sectors of the built environment and this specific role is within their fit out and refurbishment division. The role

As a Health and Safety Manage you will be responsible for the following:

• Advise, guide and coach personnel with the implementation of the company Health & Safety Policy & Management System
• Undertake active monitoring across the business / projects to measure performance against expectations and industry best practice.
• Act as a source of competent health and safety advice within the company, providing advice and assistance to the Directors, project teams and managers on health and safety matters.
• Support the development and implementation of company-wide initiatives and campaigns.
• Measure H&S performance at division / project level and report performance data, including trend analysis.
• Liaise with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties.
• Advise project teams on the implications of current and emerging health and safety legislation and best practice, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance at a project / business level
• Work with operational project teams to ensure health and safety is a primary consideration at all stages of the project lifecycle
• Investigate incidents and produce reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectively across organisation
• Support the drive for continual improvement in the health and safety culture across the organisation and amongst the key supply chain.
• Raise the profile and improve management / controls of the health aspect of health and safety.
