Contracts Manager

The company

This Contracts Manager’s role is with one of the UK’s leading main contractors. They have an excellent reputation and build some of the country’s most iconic buildings. They are a diverse organisation covering most sectors of the built environment and this role is within their refurbishment division, specifically to work on projects in the £500,000 – £5million bracket within the education sector.

The role

The primary focus will be to take responsibility for the delivery of multiple refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects from inception through to handover. You will manage a team of project managers and work closely with the commercial, bid and pre-construction departments to ensure projects are delivered successfully. Experience of working on education projects in the £500,000 – £5million bracket is essential.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting.
• Contribute into supply chain selection process and provide regular feedback and manage supply chain performance.
• Agree requirements for time, cost and quality aspects of trade contractor packages.
• Identify the quality expectations and implement measures to ensure compliance with the customer requirements.
• Interpret and analyse design information, recommend alternative design solutions and ensure inaccuracies are addressed.
• Ensure measures are established for the timely delivery of design information.
• Develop and implement site establishment and ensure the efficient and effective management of site logistics
• Implement all statutory regulatory and company requirements for managing Health and Safety, environmental and waste management.
• Manage and discharge all regulatory requirements with regard to planning and building regulations approvals.

To be successful in the role you will be an effective communicator with a positive, passionate and engaging approach. You will have good writing and analytical skills and have solid experience in taking full responsibility and leadership for healthcare fit-out, refurbishment and cut and carve projects.
