Position                               M&E Design Manager

Salary                                   £80,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + 8% Bonus + package

We have been instructed by a leading cradle to grave real estate firm to source an M&E Design Manager to work on commercial fit out projects in the UK and wider EMEA region.

The Role

  • Reporting to the MEP Director, you will be responsible for making sure all aspects of M&E designs are in accordance with the design guidelines and standards throughout all stages of the construction process starting from lease negotiations to Handover.
  • Provide strategic and tactical design management support to the Design Management Team, for the engineering process of a project from conception to completion.
  • Although based in London, there will be a requirement to travel to specific project locations throughout EMEA for key project milestones during the design, construction and testing/commissioning and handover stages.

The Duties

  • You will lead the design management for all M&E elements for the scheme overseeing the entire design management process of the M&E consultants from pre construction through to completion.
  • This will involve appointing the various M&E design consultants.
  • Subsequently managing the M&E design process ensuring the on-time supply of accurate design information to the site.
  • You will need to review and QA check all design information and ensure compliance to regulations and planning conditions while maintaining a commercially focused viewpoint for value engineering opportunities.

What experience do I need?

  • Mechanical bias Engineering Designer/manager with good all-around experience Mechanical, Electrical & PH. Min 7 years’ experience.
  • Min 5 years design consultancy and/or design management within commercial buildings Experienced in previous education projects ideally.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of IoT (Smart) technologies. For example, IAQ, HVAC Analysis, intelligent lighting, occupancy/capacity monitoring, smart bathrooms
  • Degree level qualification in appropriate subject matter.
