This Design Coordinator role is with one of the UK’s largest main contractors with a turnover in excess of £1bn. They offer an industry leading training and development scheme and the chance to work on large residential projects across the capital.

You will assist the Design Managers/Senior Design Managers supporting the construction team to drive quality outcomes, enhance buildability and foster innovation.

As a Design Coordinator, you will:

  • Assist Design Manager to produce and manage the design programme and Information Required Schedule.
  • Provide guidance to the Project team on design related issues.
  • Coordinate project team comments and resolve any design related queries with the design team.
  • Assist in the production of the Proposals, ensuring they are complete and unambiguous.
  • Review all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces to establish that they are within budget are fully coordinated and are buildable.

Experience Needed

  • A degree equivalent in Architecture, construction or related discipline
  • Knowledge of building methods and technologies, procurement, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of up to date UK building regulations with particular focus on high rise residential.
  • Be able to produce design programs
  • You will have a basic understanding of contracts, contract documentation, planning techniques, management systems, life cycle cost and value.
