Document Controller – Millom Contractor

Position              Freelance Document Controller

Location             Millom

Day Rate            £160-£170-a-day

Our client, one of the UK’s largest construction firms is currently seeking a Document Controller to join them on a new project for at least 3 years. The role will be based on a £40m refurbishment of a government building near Millom, Cumbria.

Duties

• Maintain up to date record of all information and ensure that it is available to the team and issued to the external consultants
• Record Issuing of documents in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure the project team are working with the latest proposals.
• Liaise with external consultants on queries regarding issue of information and tracking down outstanding information.
• Produce & oversee workload programs per project to track status & highlight delays.
• Update/issue fortnightly status reports & client Key Event schedule.
• Help cross check project scope & details are issued in line with requirements & agreements.
• Collate Handover folders and Handover summary sheet.
• Collate PC files for Projects (Chasing, Downloading, Uploading, Printing and Filing).
• General Printing duties including ordering large scale drawings from external printers.
• Assist team with populating Trackers & Schedules.

Skill and knowledge set

• Working knowledge and previous experience of using CDE /EDMS
• Previous experience working as a document controller
• Basic contracts and contract documentation
• Basic knowledge of Planning and Management systems
• Good Planning, Communication & Organisational skills
• Good Attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Previous experience
