Senior Design Manager

East London | Permanent | £100,000 + Package

Our client, a leading main contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the delivery team on one of the UK’s most significant data centre developments.

This landmark scheme, valued at approximately £1 billion, comprises 2.2 million sq ft of development across three 70MW data centre buildings in East London. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering this flagship project, which is expected to remain on site for a minimum of two years.

The Role

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design management process across this large-scale, highly technical project, ensuring effective coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and the wider project team.

The client is particularly interested in speaking with candidates from an architectural background who can bring strong technical expertise, design coordination skills, and experience managing complex building projects through delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager position
• Architectural background preferred
• Strong technical and design coordination capabilities
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and design disciplines
• Industrial, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, or large-scale “big shed” project experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
